WYSE Academic Challenge 2011
WYSE, (Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering) is a competition that tests the knowledge of students in several subject areas, such as Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, English Biology, Computer Fundamentals and Engineering Graphics. There are three stages of the competition, the regional, the sectional, and the state level. If a team, which must include fourteen participants, finishes first or second out of all competing teams at their designated testing site, they move on to the next level.
On February 8, 2011, a team of 17 students including Monisa Ahmed, Dania Atallah, Ayaat Dahleh, Joanna Elmatari, Khawaila Falaneh, Areej Hamdan, Amjad Karim, Ronya Kawji, Neda Khudeira, Hadee Krad, Dawlat Mohamed, Omar Mujahid, Adham Sahloul, Talat Suleiman, Dania Azhari, Sajida Rahman, and Kareem Yousef went to Fenwick High school to participate in the regional WYSE of 2011. Alhamdulillah, our team ranked 1st place in division 300 with exceptional scores. The team advanced to the sectional stage that will take on March 17 at North Central College. Khawaila Falaneh: 2nd place Physics, 3rd place Math
Dania Atallah: 2nd place Biology
Dawlat Mohamed: 2nd place Engineering Graphics
Monisa Ahmed: 3rd place Biology
Sajida Rahman: 3rd place Chemistry
