What is “CICO”?
“CICO” is short for “Check-in/Check-out.” This program provides support and monitoring for students at-risk of developing serious or chronic behavior problems. The components of the CICO program are as follows:
Clearly defined goals and expectations for the student, which are monitored daily with a Daily Progress Report card (DPR)
Instruction on behavioral expectations and appropriate skills
Daily Check-in and Check-out at the beginning and end of the school day with a positive adult mentor
Increased recognition for following expectations throughout the day to complete the DPR card
