Mrs. Rashikah Hamayel
Mrs. Hamayel joined Universal School in 2001. She earned a Bachelor’s
Degree in Physics from Birziet University in Palestine. She obtained her
Illinois certification in teaching math and physics from Trinity Christian
College. Mrs. Hamayel did her student teaching at Universal School prior
to becoming part of our full time staff. She is currently teaching
advanced placement Physics, as well as other Math and Science
courses.
Since 2002, Mrs. Hamayel has been the coach of the WYSE/ACES team
which usually receives medals in regionals, sectionals, and state
competitions. Under her leadership, the Universal School team has
placed first place in States for the past two years. She is also a coach
and mentor for the Robitics team. She was nominated for a Golden
Apple Award for Teaching and received an Outstanding Educator Award
from the University of Chicago. Mrs. Hamayel also serves as the
principal of the Saturday School at MFCC that she co-founded over
thirteen years ago. She enjoys participating in community events –
organizing youth programs and Quran learning initiatives.
